How to discharge the water used by a ground source heat pump?

"The geothermal heat pump will not consume the water that it uses in heat exchange process to heat your house. The gallons of water that goes in will also come out. Now how to discharge this water? Draining such large volumes in the sewer systems will make them over flow. Typical methods of discharge include returning the water to the water body from which it was extracted or any other water source close by; another method is sending it to a return well. A return well is a bore hole which would dispose the water in an aquifer. The water can also be used for agricultural and other useful purposes. A partial amount of it can be used for watering the plants in the lawn. "
